Though in some offices there are strict rules for formal wear, the ‘Friday Dressing’ concept is something that can be explored with a lot of imagination. The basic rules of formals remain the same. As in, if you choose the classic combo of a shirt and trouser, maybe you wouldn’t wanna go for your usual crisp white shirt and tailored black trousers. You can amp it just a tad bit by opting for chic upgrades of these basics. Taapsee Pannu‘s latest OOTD might be a great reference for this.
Apt for the #WeTheWomen event yesterday, celebrity stylist Devki B went for a cool formal vibe. She selected these chic separates from designer label Shruti Sancheti. The white shirt was upgraded with fall-inspired floral embroidery, a Victorian neckline and half-sleeves in Hakoba material that had ruffle details on the shoulders. The trousers complemented the embroidery on the shirt, but we were more interested in its silhouette. The base of the bottoms was a pair of pants with thigh-high slits that was demurely covered with a cape-like layer from both the sides and attached at the waist with buttons. Keeping up with the colour palette, she styled the look with same toned pointed-toe heels.
