A petition was filed against Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput‘s upcoming film, Kedarnath in the Uttarakhand High Court yesterday. The petition, filed by Swami Darshan Bharti, accused the film of hurting Hindu sentiments and also alleges that it’s an “ugly taint” on the Hindu shrine.

As per a report in DNA, the PIL claims that Lord Kedarnath has been insulted in the film. It also says that the trailer shows that Muslims have been residing in the area for years when actually there aren’t any. Earlier too, this issue caused a hindrance in the film’s production.

Speaking about her debut film being in trouble, Sara said:

The only feeling you have is prayer, which is not a feeling really. There was this constant thought that everything should work out. I will be a huge liar if I say it did not affect me. It was terrifying because we were so attached to the project. I would keep calling Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor) sir, every day and ask, “Sir, sab theek hai?” Thank God, things worked out in the end.

The film is slated to release on December 7, 2018.
