Concealers are the MVPs of every makeup kit. From undereye circles to dark spots, they make every skin woe disappear in just minutes. Over the past few years, I’ve tried out quite a few formulas and found some that really work. Here are my favourites.
1. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
This heavy-hitter is the one I turn to when I’ve got a wedding to attend. It covers up dark circles and pigmentation with its full coverage formula, without caking up or creasing. Plus, it has a matte finish that photographs beautifully!
2. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
With its sponge tip and weightless feel, this concealer is a cult favourite for a reason. I love how it plumps up my undereye area and makes me look infinitely more well-rested than I am. The formula blends in easily and can be layered on for more coverage.
3. Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer
When I want a sheer and natural look, this is the concealer I reach for. Usually, I warm a tiny amount between my fingers and then spread it underneath my eyes. Not only does it go on smoothly, but also doesn’t settle into my fine lines.
4. L.A. Girl HD Pro.Conceal
The shade range of this concealer is really impressive. I actually own quite a few shades and use the deeper ones to get a subtle contour. The crease-resistant formula stays put for hours and really evens out my skin tone.
5. Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Makeup The Instant Skin Retoucher
If you are looking for an affordable concealer that literally does it, this is definitely the one to get! The stick formula makes it easy to dot the shade over dark spots and acne scars, whilst the creamy consistency melts into skin almost undetectably.
6. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Out of all the concealers I own, this is my top pick. The fluid consistency delivers medium coverage that can be built up easily. I use this on my dark circles for its subtle brightening effect and the way it opens up my eyes.
7. Make Up For Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream
Truth be told, I bought this concealer by mistake. I had actually planned on ordering the brand’s skin tint (which comes in a similar tube), but clicked on this one instead. Luckily, I fell in love with the pigmented formula and waterproof finish.
Have you tried any of these concealers out before? I’d love to hear about your experience!
