It was a monumental day for Kangana Ranaut yesterday, as the trailer of her upcoming biopic, Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi, launched yesterday. As elaborate as the launch was at IMAX Wadala, her tradition look matched it up, for sure. But that wasn’t it. She had another saree look for us and for the evening she went completely contrast to the desi vibe with a sheer dress. These three style switches in just twelve hours were worth checking out.
For the grand trailer reveal, Kangana took on the avatar of her reel role, Rani Lakshmi Bai. She wore a Paithani saree draped in a native Maharashtrian style with a stole on the shoulder in the same rich weave. Designer Neeta Lulla was the visioner behind the character’s style on screen as well as Kangana’s this look. She styled the look with juttis and traditional jewellery, with even the nath (nose ring) playing a major role. Even the chandrakor bindi that’s a core part of the Maharashtrian beauty look made this whole ensemble picture perfect with the stylish bun and glam makeup.
The other desi look was a modern sheer saree from Raw Mango. Celebrity stylist Ami Patel went for a classic look with one strand pearl necklace, stud earrings and juttis from Fizzy Goblet. The colour of the saree was replicated via her shimmery silver eyeshadow in her beauty look by celebrity makeup artist Anil C.
Later, in the night, for Ankita Lokhande‘s birthday bash, she switched it up for a completely modern look. Ami selected a sheer wrap dress with silver pearls all-over from Alena Akhmadullina for the party. The wide belt with furry details and the strappy heels went well with the dreamy vibe of the dress. Though her makeup was on similar glam lines to her previous desi looks, her hair was sleeker to match the contemporary style.
