What is Shrobing?
Shrobing is a styling trick in which one wears a jacket over the shoulders, (sometimes) without using the sleeves. The word is literally a combination of the words, Shoulder and Robing, which combines to become Shrobing.
We saw this trend trickling in late 2017 but witnessed it on runways and on the hottest celebrities this year as well. Here’s how they wore it.
Malaika Arora
Malaika Arora went the athleisure way and shrobed her black and white bomber jacket from Off-White over a black tank top and faux leather pants.
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
Sonam wore this look that was dripping in finesse. Along with this Escada skirt and blazer combo, Sonam wore the shrobing trend with a black long-line jacket.
Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut wears this trend so frequently, that it’s almost like her signature style. From pantsuits to skirts and more, she proves that you can shrobe in almost anything.

Valerie Morris Campbell
For Burberry‘s 2019 Christmas campaign Naomi Campbell and her mother, Valerie Morris Campbell wore the aforementioned designer label. Both of them were seen wearing navy blue pantsuits while Naomi wore her blazer in a classic way, her mother shrobed it out oh-s0-stylishly.
We also saw this trend take over runways, both in India and internationally.
Tom Ford at NYFW
Tom Ford’s models walked down the New York Fashion Week SS19 runway show styled in this trend and we loved it!
Rahul Mishra at LMIFW
For the rainbow show at LMIFW, Rahul Mishra created this colourful gown and topped it with this striped rainbow blazer that was shrobed over the dress.
