Let’s be honest, we all want great hair but we don’t always take care of it. Salons may have haircare solutions such as hair spas but they’re most likely with a few chemicals, and last only 3 days. So, why not try DIY hair masks that are organic, inexpensive and have results that last way longer? The best part is that you can make these nourishing hair masks at home with ingredients that are already available in your kitchen. Here are 6 DIY hair masks that you will give you hair like Rapunzel.

1. Yogurt & Honey Hair Mask

This hair mask works wonders for dry and damaged hair. Yogurt consists of lactic acids and protein that help cleanse the scalp and promote hair growth. Honey aids in adding moisture and shine to dry hair.

Here’s what you’ll need:

2. Egg Hair Mask

Egg in your hair? It sounds weird, we know. Eggs work amazingly well as conditioners for our hair. They help restore shine and help in improving its texture. If the smell of eggs bothers you, don’t worry. Adding a few drops of lemon juice takes away the pungent smell and also keeps an oily scalp in check.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 egg with the yolk removed
  • Lemon juice

3. Coconut Oil & Banana Hair Mask

Coconut oil has always been an age-old remedy for dry and brittle hair. Bananas have great hydrating qualities that nourish and protect our hair. Together they make a simple but powerful hair mask.

Here’s what you need:

What you need to do:

Blend a ripe banana and add 2 tbsp of coconut oil. Apply it to your hair and scalp and let it sit for at least 30 minutes before you shampoo your hair.
