2018 was quite an eye-opening year, to say the least. The #TimesUp movement had only trickled down to India later in the year, it did and how! Many popular faces and celebrities were outed on their sexually inappropriate actions. After the #MeToo movement started gaining momentum in Bollywood, several organizations started setting up cells for reporting such incidents as well. While we may be in the new year, reports of allegations such as these are still surfacing. Recently, Sanju director Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual harassment by a co-worker who alleged that he had abused her for over six months during the filming of Sanju. When the reports had come out, the director had released an official statement in which he expressed his shock in getting to know this. He even disclosed how he had immediately suggested that the complainant approach a legal body. Through the statement, he had categorically denied all the accusations made by the complainant.
Now, some B-Town celebrities have also spoken in defence of the director. Speaking to ANI, Boney Kapoor expressed his disbelief in hearing such reports and even said that Raju Hirani is too good a man to do something like that. He further went on to say that he can never do a thing like this.
Even 3 Idiots actor Sharman Joshi stood up for Raju Hirani and tweeted out his support.

Take a look:

Recently, even Arshad Warsi, who has been associated with the director for the hit Munna Bhai franchise, also reacted to the reports while speaking to IANS. He said that it wasn’t wise to jump to conclusions without any proof of the same. He also talked about his long association and said that he has never seen the director behaving badly to anyone in his presence and that he is a lovely guy.
The Sanju actress, Dia Mirza also expressed her distress while in conversation with PTI. When she got to know of the reports that were doing the rounds, she said that she hopes there is a proper investigation conducted regarding the same and it is unfair to comment any further as she does not know any details. She also added as to how the #MeToo movement was great as it encourages women to come forward and seek justice.
We too hope there is a thorough investigation conducted on this and justice is served to the right party.
