10 Songs To Add To Your Playlist That'll Keep You Motivated Throughout The Week

Prashansa Daniell , 21 Jan 2019

Music, for me, is therapeutic. It’s nearly impossible to leave for work in the morning without my earphones plugged in and my playlist playing in full swing—one could even say that it’s almost as important as my morning coffee (note: I said almost). So when it comes to keeping my mood right, the right music is essential!
In a series of blogs starting with this one, Team MissMalini is going to give you a playlist for every mood! Today, we’re bringing to you ten songs for when you need all the motivation. Keep scrolling to see a few of my essentials that I listen to for everyday motivation.

1. The Greatest – Sia

TBH, this song is at the top of my workout playlist. From the beats to the tunes to the lyrics, everything about this track will motivate you to do your best.
Lyrics I Love:
Letdowns’ll get you, and the critics will test you
But the strong’ll survive, another scar may bless you

2. Kar Har Maidan FatehSanju

I’m not the kind who has a lot of Hindi songs on my playlist, but when I heard this one, I knew I was going to listen to it on loop!
Lyrics I Love:
pighla de zanjeerein
bana unki shamsheerein
kar har maidaan fateh o bandeya
kar har maidan fateh

3. Whatever It Takes – Imagine Dragons

Imagine Dragons is one of my all-time favourite bands, and ‘Whatever It Takes’, is one of my favourite songs! The band has the ability to get your adrenaline pumping if you’re watching them live or even over YouTube.
Lyrics I Love:
I’m just a symbol to remind you that there’s more to see

4. Don’t Stop Believing – Journey

This song was on my mom’s playlist and now it’s on mine, with good enough reason. This feel-good song will motivate you and help you power through your day!
Lyrics I Love:
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to the feelin’

5. Lush Life – Zara Larsson

This song has been on my playlist for over two years now and helps me get my mood back up almost instantaneously! The lyrics will help you live in the moment and experience life for what it is, instead of crying over what it could be.
Lyrics I Love:
I live my day as if it was the last
Live my day as if there was no past

6. Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Feat. Ray Dalton)

The song will not only help you believe in your best self but also get you in a groovy mood. This results in a new kinda confidence, one that can help you achieve your tasks for the day!
Lyrics I Love:
Stay on my craft and stick around for those pounds
But I do that to pass the torch and put on for my town
Trust me, on my I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T sh*t hustling

7. Apna Time AayegaGully Boy

The first song that was released from Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt‘s upcoming film, Gully Boy had me hitting replay and how! Before this story of a nobody becoming a somebody in India’s rap space motivates you, let this song do that job.
Lyrics I Love:
Har raaste ko cheerenge
Hum kaamyabi cheenenge
Sab kuch mila paseene se
Matlab bana ab jeene mein

8. Dog Days Are Over – Florence + The Machine

There have been many translations of these lyrics but if you look at it at face value, the song simply means that the bad days are over. I listen to this song on repeat whenever I do—just one play doesn’t cut it for me, what about you?
Lyrics I Love:
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

9. Survivor – Destiny’s Child

When power women like Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams are telling you that you’re a survivor, you better believe it!
Lyrics I Love:
No more pain for me, no more misery, ’cause you history
I’m a hold on to what I got

10. Hall Of Fame – The Script

Cause at the end of the day, you gotta get your name in the Hall Of Fame! The lyrics and beats of this song combined will motivate you to power through the toughest of struggles—I, for one, pick out this song and play it when I’m having a bad day and it picks me right up.
Lyrics I Love:
You could go the distance
You could run the mile
You could walk straight through hell with a smile
