We all have that one song we listen to on repeat! The love for that one song is so real, we make sure all the people around us get to experience it too (by forcing them to listen to it, duh!). And if you’re someone who enjoys classic rock or pop songs, you know Toto‘s Africa is among one of the best ones. And the love for this classic song drove an artist to come up with a plan which will have this song play on loop FOREVER! How awesome is that? Wanna know how? Read on to find out.
Max Siedentopf, a Namibian-German artist put up a sound installation in the middle of the Namib Desert in southern Africa—this installation is aptly named ‘Toto forever’. It has 6 speakers, an MP3 that features just one song- Toto’s Africa, all powered by solar energy which will help this song play till the end of time. If this isn’t the most genius plan, I don’t know what is! Writing to NPR, a multimedia news organization and radio program producer, Max said,

I was very intrigued by this and wanted to pay the song the ultimate homage and physically exhibit ‘Africa’ in Africa. The Namibian desert—which is, with 55 million years, the oldest desert in the world—seemed to be the perfect spot for this.

The chances of stumbling across this installation are unknown, considering the desert area spreads for 31300 square miles. But, you can certainly watch how it looks and sounds like here.

If you’re planning to go find this crazy installation whenever you visit the Namib desert, you can take help of the enclosed map provided by the artist. Sounds like a great treasure hunt, no? Do let me know what you think about this in the comments below!
