It’s only been roughly 18 years since the first Princess Diaries movie released and gave every little girl hope that they too could secretly be a princess of a country far away. Anne Hathaway, aka Mia Thermopolis, took us through her journey from being a nerdy teenager to an eloquent princess of Genovia with Princess Diaries (2001) and Princess Diaries 2 – The Royal Engagement (2004), and the actress also just confirmed the possibility of a third movie—yup, the world might just get to see a Princess Diaries Trilogy!
In an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, a caller asked Anne Hathaway about the possibility of a third movie, to which she replied and said,
There is a script for the third movie. I wanna do it, Julie (Andrews) wants to do it, Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen, it’s just we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it. It’s as important to us as it is to you, and we don’t want to deliver anything unless it’s ready. But we’re working on it.
Um, we cannot wait to see what the Princess will be up to in this new movie! Will we witness a fifteen-year time gap or will the third movie pick up where Princess Diaries 2-The Royal Engagement left off? Either way, we cannot wait to watch this movie!
