Every place tells a story, but not all of them are pretty. There are some places in the world that are still haunted by the screams of the anguished, and some that are too cursed to visit. Check out some of the scariest places from all around the world that will give you the chills!
1. Bhangarh Fort, India
According to popular folklore, a black magic practitioner fell in love with the princess of Bhangarh and offered her a love potion to drink. She rejected his love and threw the potion on a boulder, which resulted in it rolling off and crushing the man to death. Before he died, he cursed the city of Bhangarh and said that it would be destroyed. Soon after, the Mughals invaded Bhangarh and all the citizens along with the princess were murdered. The fort remains haunted to this very day, and people are restricted by the government to enter the fort after 6 pm. Spooky, right?
2. Salem, USA
Salem is notoriously known for the witch trials where several people were killed for practising magic and casting spells. The House Of Seven Gables has witnessed many supernatural and unexplained activities. The witches that were killed during the trials are also known to haunt Salem and its residents.
3. Poveglia, Italy
For a very long time, Poveglia was home to the quarantined victims of the plague and other illnesses. The island is now haunted by the ghosts of the tormented and remains uninhabited even today.
4. The Island Of Dolls, Mexico
This creepy island is full of hundreds of dolls that hang menacingly from the trees. Legend has it that a girl drowned to death and a caretaker of the island found her doll floating in a river. He hung the doll to a tree out of respect for the dead girl. However, the dolls he hung were haunted by the souls of the dead girl. Visitors claim that they have seen the dolls moving their limbs and whispering to each other, and even opening their eyes.
5. Valley Of The Kings, Egypt
The Valley Of The Kings is home to the ‘Curse Of The Pharaoh’. Ever since King Tutankhamun’s tomb was found in the valley, every person involved in the discovery soon faced a mysterious and untimely death. Many people attribute this to the infamous curse and believed it to be the cause of the explorers’ strange deaths.
6. Ancient Ram Inn, England
This inn has supposedly been home to child sacrifices and devil worshipping. It is also believed that a dark portal had opened up in the inn, leading to dark energies and spirits haunting the house. Several screams and ghost sightings of witches, high priestesses, and a monk have been witnessed by visitors. The inn is very well known and was even featured on the ‘Ghost Adventures‘ show.
