If you follow MM’s Instagram pages, you’ve probably seen all the craziness that goes into covering the #5DaysOfFashion aka Lakmé Fashion Week. This time around, for their Summer/Resort edit, we thought of taking you through our perspective as MM’s fashion team about just what we see and how we cover it.

Rashmi Bhosale, Natasha Patel and I, Prashansa Daniell are about to take you through how we survived the hump day of fashion week. Keep reading to see!

The third day of Lakmé Fashion Week always picks up at lightning speed and the momentum goes on till the end. So, mentally I was prepping myself for a hectic day ahead. Since I had the responsibility of putting stories on our MissMaliniFashion Instagram handle, I also had to keep a close eye on the sartorial details that hit the runway.

The day kickstarted with ballerina setting the mood for all the upcoming shows. Esse, Integument and SWGT introduced us to fresh new silhouettes and some quirky accessories. The one show that appealed to my street style wardrobe was the lineup by Kanika Goyal, which also featured bags of all the sizes. Satiating the gypsy hearts was Rajdeep Ranawat’s showcase, whereas Sukriti & Aakriti collection pleaded our festive summer vibe.

It was a special day for Payal Singhal as she celebrated her birthday with a collection that represented the best of her signature style. Eka had another story to tell altogether and had a brigade of powerful women walking for her show. Ashish N Soni had a fresh take on menswear and the final show, Anavila, showed us how a saree drape could be taken to a whole new level.

The key takeaway for me had to be the variety of fashion accessories that we saw on the runway. While we were juggling in between the shows and taking interviews, I think we didn’t realise when the day ended! The chaos of the fashion week grows on you and day 3, in general, is a defining moment in the week.

While Rashmi managed the MM Fashion handle, I took over MissMalini‘s main handle to bring you every update from the runway as and when it happened. Day three was abundant with all things stylish—from lehengas, sarees to sexy, structured clothing. The day began with one of my favorite designer labels, ESSÉ showcasing their take on stylish cargo pants, thigh-high slit skirts and more. We also got around to meet a few celebrities and designers that really made me realise just how much goes into creating an entire line of clothing.

As a beauty editor, I spent a lot of time backstage getting beauty looks for the MM Beauty handle and let me just say, that going backstage for me was like beauty heaven, but a chaotic one at that! From colourful lids, to glossed out lips, statement eyeliner and more—I not only got to see these looks up close but also saw makeup artists creating them from scratch. What
