It’s things like Valentine’s Day and romantic movies and songs that make a single person realise just how single they are. All of us at some point have been in love, right? Those butterflies in the stomach when you see someone is just such a beautiful feeling. So why would you want to forget your crush? Because that feeling is only fun if the other person feels the same way about you. What if they don’t? It’s really heartbreaking for someone going through this. And if you’re going through it too, here are a few things you could do to get over that sinking feeling.

1. Social media detox

Take a break from social media for a while, at least when it comes to their profiles. Unfollow them, literally and figuratively as well.

2. Delete their contacts from your phone

Just like unfollowing them, make sure to remove them from your contacts and last calls for a while till you get over them. Seeing their names on your phone is gonna play on your mind, and you can’t forget that crush is they’re always in your face.

3. Avoid encounters with them

Avoid going for plans that might include hanging out with your crush. The more you see them, the more your feelings will grow.

4. Distract yourself

Take some time off and do whatever it takes to get your mind off your crush. Take up a hobby, go out with your friends and have fun!

5. Forget your crush by focusing on yourself!

Do what you love to do, and focus on your self. Take time to introspect, meditate and think about your well-being.

6. Be open to meeting new people

Don’t shut yourself to other people just because you’re hung onto your crush. Give other people a chance.

7. Talk to your friends

If you’re feeling a certain way, just talk to your loved ones about it. Confide in someone, sharing will make you feel better for sure.

8. Make a pros and cons list

It might sound lame, but making a list of their pros and cons might help you deal with your feelings. It’ll give you a realistic comparison of whether your feelings for them are even worth it. So, do give this a try.

So, if your crush doesn’t feel the same way about you, don’t fret. You’ll definitely get over it at some point. Remember, it’s only a phase!
