Nothing in life is permanent, whether it is a happy moment or a sad one. When we go through a bad day, we tend to overthink situations that make the day even worse for us. Somedays, things just don’t go the way we plan it, right? That’s absolutely fine. Recently, I was chatting with a close friend of mine who was having a really bad weekend and even though I told her that everything will be fine, I thought I’d dig a little deeper and ask my friends on social media what they’d tell someone who isn’t having the best day. A lot of them had such nice things to say and even gave me a really good insight into life and happiness—so much so that I thought I’d share them with you today. So, if you ever have a bad day, you can remember these few things I learned from my friends that actually helped me out when I was feeling low. Here’s what you need to remember when sadness takes over your mind.

1. It’s Only A Day

It’s a matter of 24 hours, and you can really turn around after this day passes. Like our Boss Lady, MissMalini says, “The universe is so much bigger and brighter than one bad day. Close your eyes and let it sparkle!

2. Good & Bad Days Are Part Of Life

Like I mentioned earlier, good and bad days are a part of life and we need to accept that. The good thing is, they both coexist and none of them is permanent. So if you’re having a bad day, be hopeful that a good day is right around the corner.

3. Sleep On It

Sometimes, all you need is a good night’s sleep. Sleeping on it will help you think about the day from a new perspective. My motto in life always is—when in doubt, pass out! Works like a charm for me.

4. Let It Go

The art of letting go doesn’t come easily but it should be done. Holding onto all those emotions will only make you feel worse. Let go off all your grudges and you’ll surely feel lighter.

5. You Got This

You’re stronger than you think you are, don’t forget that. You’ve been through worse and gotten out of it a winner. So, be a true fighter and don’t give up.

6. Focus On The Good

It’s not that easy, but at this point, it’s important to think of the good things going on in life and be grateful for them. This will keep you going and focus on the right things. Replace the negative thoughts with all the things you actually should be thankful for.

7. Someone Out There Loves You

Always remember, that there is someone out there who loves you and cares for you. In fact, give them a call and talk to them, talking to them will surely make you feel better.

8. Everything Is Temporary

Nothing lasts forever, whether it’s good or bad. Just keep that in mind every time a bad thought runs through your mind.

9. It’s Okay To Cry

Crying helps let all the emotions out. This will make you feel lighter so if you really feel like crying, go for it. There’s nothing wrong with embracing your feelings.

10. Apna Time Ayega

Like our very own Gullyboy, Ranveer Singh raps, remember, you’ll have your day and you will look back and wonder why you spent so much time being upset over something that now is irrelevant. Kyunki, apna time ayega!

11. Only Upward From Here

If you think you’ve hit rock bottom and nothing could get worse than this, then, there’s only one way, and that’s up! So, think positively and know that it’s all going to get a lot better from now on.
