Karishma Govil

One of Hollywood’s most awaited annual celebration hands down is the Oscars! The Annual Academy Awards always out-do themselves and each year, they build curiosity among the viewers as to what they’d come up with this time. Whether it’s a movement, a heart-melting speech, a power-packed performance or an unexpected win, the Oscars always have us guessing. This year is no exception! There are a few changes in terms of format they’re working on this year and we’ve got you all the deets you need to know about it. Scroll down to end your FOMO!

When is it happening?

The ceremony will take place on 24th February 2019 at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.

Where can we stream it in India?

The ceremony will be telecast live at 5:30 AM IST on the 24th morning. You can watch it on Star Movies or HotStar.

Who is hosting this year?

Now, this is the really interesting part… This is only the second time in the history of the Academy Awards that there will be NO HOST. Yup, you read that right. This year was supposed to be hosted by the hilarious American comedian, Kevin Hart. But due to a past homophobia-related controversy, he decided to drop hosting completely. This led them to be host-less this year. Fans, however, think there will be a surprise host who will appear at the event. Theoretically, fans are hoping it is Whoopi Goldberg as she’s been a 4-time host before too.

The presenters will take over

Since there is no host this year, the producers of the show are compensating with a massive lineup of celebrity presenters. We can expect stars like Jennifer Lopez, Pharrell Williams, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and many more.

Some exciting performances are in order

We can expect some really fun performance by Bette Midler, Queen, Jennifer Hudson and some intense ones by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper too.

Some interesting internet predictions this year

The Week predicts Roma to win Best Picture, The New York Times predicts Glenn Close to win Best Actress and FirstPost predicts Rami Malek to win Best Actor.

We’re so eager to see what’s in for us this year at the 91st Annual Academy Awards this time. What are you looking forward to the most? Tell us in the comments below.
