This time around wedding season in India seems to be lasting all year round—but I’m not complaining! After the flood of celebrity weddings, we experienced this past year, I’m more than ready for more #BigFatIndianWedding inspiration.

These past few days we’ve been seeing Alia Bhatt have the time of her life at her childhood bestie, Devika Advani‘s wedding (Thanks, @Instagram!) through which we also got to see all the stellar outfits she wore through the mehendi, sangeet and pheras. Each of Alia Bhatt’s looks was styled by Ami Patel, her hair was done by Amit Thakur and makeup by Aparnah Mitter. So there’s more inspo coming your way, keep scrolling to check ‘em out:

The Mehendi

She wore a dreamy mix-and-matched lehenga from Anita Dongre and paired it with a potli bag from The Pink Potli. Since the mehendi was an outdoor day-time affair, the colours chosen for this look couldn’t have been more perfect.

The Sangeet

I’ve been in love with this Anushree Reddy design ever since I saw it on the Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 runway—and Alia does total justice to it! Plus that ruffled blouse is total makes the need for a dupatta non-existent, don’t you think?

The Wedding

Alia went the unconventional route for the wedding ceremony and saved the best for last! She wore this ink blue Manish Malhotra creation which the designer calls a sharara-saree—which is essentially a sharara with your dupatta draped like a saree pallu. Unlike the first two events, Alia had her hair up in a messy pony and wore contrasting baby pink jewellery from Amrapali and Belleza Jewels.

My Style Tip:

Alia wore a mixture of colours, fresh silhouettes and minimal which ensured each of her looks were statement-making, but more importantly, it didn’t overpower the bride. The next time you’re attending a bestie, or your own sister’s wedding make sure your outfits don’t overpower hers, since you’re going to be around her all the time. Choose outfits that are easy to wear, and easy to run around in because #ShaadiKaKaam—Alia’s sharara saree is the perfect example of one! But all in all, make sure you’re comfortable.

Which one of Alia’s looks did you like best? I personally love the floral Anushree Reddy lehenga—tell me your favorite in the comments below!
