‘Tis the season to get married! A lot of people are tying the knot and it’s a really happy and festive time for all, isn’t it? The ones who aren’t getting married, however, have many duties during a loved one’s wedding ceremonies. If your close friend or sibling or any other family member is getting hitched, you’ll obviously have a bunch of important tasks to perform. And if you’re close to them, you might even be a bridesmaid. Being a bridesmaid, you need to take care of many things. Keeping the bride calm and not letting her turn into a Bridezilla is basically one of your key tasks. If you want to be the best bridesmaid the bride can ask for, here are a few tips for you to do just that. Scroll down for things you could do to help your bride.

1. Listen

The bride will have way too many things to tell you. Whether it is to delegate a task or just to vent, you’ve gotta listen, with an open mind. Remember, she’s the bride and she needs you RN.

2. Learn The Art Of Delivering News & Tell Her The Truth

We really suggest you tell her the truth when it needs to be told. No one likes a liar, especially a bride who needs you to be honest. Having said that, there is a way to tell her the truth without hurting her feelings. First, tell her the positives, and then let her in on the truth with ease.

3. Pace Yourself With The Alcohol

The ceremonies at a wedding can really tempt a person to let loose. It’s important for a good bridesmaid to not do that and stay alert throughout. The dulhan should be able to trust her with work and if she gets wasted, the entire wedding can go haywire.

4. Pamper Her

Surprise her with random spa vouchers, take her shopping and maybe treat her for a good lunch too. Distract her from all the wedding stress as much as you can.

5. Plan The Ultimate Bachelorette

Another really important event to plan is the bachelorette. Make sure it’s a time the bride will remember for the rest of her life. Treat her no less than a queen at her bachelorette and customise it according to her personality. If she’s a fun bride, get games, a karaoke set or take her out to a party, if she likes to stay indoors, host a house party and watch her favourite movies and cook her all her favourite dishes. And if she loves adventure, plan a trek or something she’s excited about. Get her fun gifts and customised accessories to make her feel uber special.

6. Cooperate

Never tell the bride that you can’t do a particular thing. And if you really can’t then tell her nicely. The last thing she wants is disagreements.

7. Keep Her Away From All The Drama

Do not let the bride get involved in any kind of drama during the wedding or even while planning it. If something is going wrong, try to put out the fire without her even knowing about it. There’s too much she already has to take care of, and this is not something she needs to deal with.

These things could seem easy, but some of them are hard to do. Having said that, they must be done. So, make sure you’re on your toes, keeping a tab on your task list, and also, keeping the bride hydrated (it’s really an underrated task, but an equally important one). Remember, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event for her, so make it special for your bestie!
