Bollywood actress, Tanishaa Mukherji is currently in New York to attend the CRY America Charity Gala, which took place a couple of days ago. The actress allegedly faced racism at the Jane Hotel on Saturday night, and she recounted the horrific incident in detail to Mid-Day.

As per reports, Tanishaa was partying with her friends at the hotel’s club when one of the employees passed some insensitive comments about her. She said:

I don’t understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn’t speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It’s traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier.

Tanishaa further said that the hotel authorities showed no support and also refused to call the cops. Reportedly, she tried to record the entire incident on her phone but the guy stopped her in the middle and the video ended abruptly.
