It was like any other day at the fashion week but a brigade of celebrities kick-starting day two of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2019 had to be special! The opening act had Karisma Kapoor walking the runway for Sanjukta Dutta and the finale of the day was by Suneet Varma‘s jazzy, spectacular show. What we did pay special attention to were the sarees from today. Especially the ones Karisma Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar were sporting on the ramp.

Karisma donned an indigenous Mekhala chador, which is an Assamese traditional saree weaved in silk. The motifs were native to Assam and the dark hues in which they were translated on the chador ensured opulence. On the other hand, Swara Bhaskar showcased the contemporary take on the saree as she was the showstopper for Nirmooha by Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia. Swara sashayed down the runway in a ruffle-bordered saree that had some stunning embellishment all-over, which was teamed with an off-shoulder ruffle blouse. Two completely different sarees but both were equally breathtaking on the runway.

But day two wasn’t just about sarees, it was packed with some theatrical experiences and celebrity showstoppers that did justice to the collections that were showcased. Here are the other highlights from day two of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week (LMIFW):

Shikha Talsania For Inspiration The Curve

Another celebrity that we simply adored was Shikha Talsania who rocked the runway for Inspiration The Curve that showcased the brilliance of Ikat weave.

Karishma Tanna For AOM Couture

Karisma Tanna was the showstopper for AOM Couture and owned the purple patchwork dress that had dreamy side trains. She truly looked like a modern-day princess.

Rakul Preet Singh For Julie By Julie Shah

We got a major dose of the glam side the minute Rakul Preet took to the runway. She wore an embellished gown with cut-out details and thigh-high slit from Julie By Julie Shah.

Day 2 Show 2

Powerpacked with some ace designers, the show two of day two was all about fashion as Nikita Mhaisalkar, Nirmooha by Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia, Pooja Shroff and Siddhartha Bansal showcased their vision for the season. What we loved about this show, in particular, was the fact that we gotta see different styles and trends at one go.

Menswear Mania

Three menswear designers back-to-back showcasing what’s best for the upcoming season, now that’s exactly what we were looking forward to. The third show was all about breaking the norms and redefining menswear with shows by Dhruv Vaish, Kommal and Ratul Sood and Manoviraj Khosla.

Huemn

Looking for cosy winter essentials? Head to Huemn for some really cool knitwear that has its own artistic flair!

Prashant Verma

It was not your average fashion show. In fact, Prashant Verma’s show was not a fashion show at all but a culmination of art forms like theatre, fashion and music.

Nitin Bal Chauhan

Nitin Bal Chauhan illustrated a comic book story on his ensembles through 3D embellishments and the genius of it all was the fact that he did it in just the basic colours of black and white.

Samant Chauhan

We were at the prairies, as Samant Chauhan brought autumnal fields to the runway. His excellence comes through with the attention to details he puts on pattern-making and draping.

Day 2 Finale By Suneet Varma

Suneet Varma ended day two on a glittering note! With a reflective, mirror ramp and the ensembles that sparkled because of the ornate work done on them, Suneet ensured that he created a lasting impression.
