Saree is such a heritage piece and an integral part of an Indian wardrobe. Tapping into the traditions of an indigenous saree or diving into the contemporary concept one, everyone’s encounter with this drape has been different. This season Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week paid a tribute at the grand finale to appreciate the six yards of goodness and its simplicity and everlasting persona.

The beautiful lineup began with gorgeous Diana Penty, walking down the runway in a traditional Parsi Gara saree. To make this family heirloom look contemporary, fashion stylist Gautam Karla styled it with a sleeveless blouse and regal jewellery by Umesh Jivnani. Now, isn’t that a style trick to remember if you ever choose to wear a family heirloom saree too?

The conclusion to the finale extravagance was by Aditi Rao Hydari, who also chose to don her heritage. She adorned her mother’s rich handloom saree and closed the fashion show and the fashionable week. Keeping up with the traditional vibe, Gautam accessorised the look with exquisite temple jewellery from Amrapali Jewels.

It was truly #SixYardsOf heritage as showstoppers Diana and Aditi chose to walk the finale ramp in sarees which are family heirlooms in a true sense. But that wasn’t all, between their appearances, 21 top designers from India showcased their take on the six yards. From woven simplicity to regal elegance to concept sarees, the runway became a platform to showcase it all.

Here’s a small glimpse at the sarees that took over the ramp at the grand finale of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2019:
