Deepika Padukone is one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars who has made her name globally known with her work. Despite all the stardom and chaos that comes with her career, DP has always maintained that she’s an all in all family person. For those of you who have been living under a rock, Deepika married her longtime boyfriend Ranveer Singh in November 2018. In an interview with First Post, she revealed how her upbringing actually helps her in her married life as well. The actress briefly talked about how her mother Ujjwala Padukone‘s parenting style has helped her get to where she is now.
She said,
I have learnt a lot from her. I don’t think there is a single thing I can do without her voice in my head. Simple things like when I buy something, I remember that she has always told me, ‘find out how much it is for.
She further added how this affects her hubby Ranveer Singh as well.
We were all her priority. She allowed us to pursue our passion and, at the same time, disciplined all of us. Today, if Ranveer (Singh) says ‘my wife expects us to be home at a certain time, go to bed at a certain time’— all those things come from her.
During his episode of Koffee With Karan, Ranveer had also disclosed that Deepika was a big disciplinarian. You know what they say, like mother, like daughter.
I can’t believe how much my mom sounds like Ujjwala Padukone. In fact, she still asks me the prices of the things that I buy. So I may just become as successful as DP, no?
Well, a girl can dream.
