Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s period drama, Padmaavat went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2018. The film starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor and everyone loved their performance. But do you know Kangana Ranaut was approached for Deepika’s role in the film? The Queen actress was a guest on a chat show with Mid-Day and spoke about her journey and her choice of cinema. During the chat, Kangana revealed that she had a brief meeting with SLB for Padmaavat and he narrated the script to her too.
When she was asked if the film was offered to her, she said, “Yes.”
Kangana further added:
There was this conversation, and I was doing Manikarnika then, so it didn’t go anywhere. But we had a brief narration. Before that as well, he wanted me to do the Ram-Leela song. He is a filmmaker who can leave strong impressions on you, especially if you are a fresh mind.
