In March 2018, Irrfan Khan left his fans and followers in a rude shock when he tweeted about having a rare disease.”Sometimes you wake up with a jolt with life shaking you up. Little had I known that my search for rare stories would make me find a rare disease. In trying times, please don’t speculate as I will myself share with you my story within a week – 10 days when further investigations come with a conclusive diagnosis. Till then, wish the best for me,” he had written. Read more about it here.

After his post, reports of Irrfan being diagnosed with brain cancer started doing the rounds. The Hindi Medium actor then broke his silence on the health scare and clarified that he has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour. “As for the rumours that were floated, neuro is not always about the brain and Googling is the easiest way to do research,” read a part of his statement.

The actor then went to London for his treatment and returned to India during Diwali and also around February this year. Yesterday, he was also spotted at the airport and he didn’t avoid the paparazzi, unlike his last visit to Mumbai.

Today, he took to Twitter and shared a heartfelt post thanking everyone for the love and support in his process of healing. “Maybe somewhere in the pursuit of winning, we forget how much it means to be loved. In our vulnerability, we are reminded. As I leave my footprints onto these steps of my life, I want to pause to be grateful for receiving your immense love and support, it soothed me in my process of healing. So I travel back to you, thanking you from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote.
