Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan are teaming up for Good News, which also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, and releases on September 6. Akki and Bebo have been a successful pair in the past and their chemistry was well appreciated in films such as Aitraaz, Bewafaa, Tashan, Kambakkht Ishq etc.
Needless to say, the two share a good rapport off screen too. We are quite excited to see them together after almost a decade. In a recent interview with DNA, the actors opened up about working with each after so long and how things have changed (or not changed!) over the years.
Bebo talked about Akshay’s discipline as an actor and how his strict daily routine allows her to spend more time with her baby boy, Taimur Ali Khan.
Akshay is one of the most dedicated and disciplined stars that we have. We haven’t worked in a film for the longest time and now Good News is happening. It’s an exciting project for us to be a part of. It has the right humour and emotions for all ages. Working with him is always fun. The best part is that he doesn’t waste time, so, we go on set, wrap up and I can head home to be with my son, Taimur.
Awww! Akshay had a similar take on working with Kareena. He talked about the candid equation he has with the Kapoor sisters – Kareena and Karisma Kapoor – both of whom have been his co-stars.
I’ve done many films with Bebo. But I have never done a full-length feature film with Kareena after she got married. This is the first time. But nothing has changed. Whenever we meet — whether it’s on a film set or an awards night — our equation has remained the same. We are extremely fond of each other. Bebo and Lolo (Karisma) tease me about the amount of money I’m making and I tease them about having a flat in every building in Bandra. That’s our fun banter.
