Is it just me or are you missing the cool weather too? This hot and humid climate has been wreaking havoc on my body… and my makeup! Since I just can’t deal with sweaty foundation and smeared concealer, I decided to do my research and find the best mattifying powders on the market.

1. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder

Trust Rihanna to combine the magic of blotting paper with a setting powder. This translucent powder goes on invisibly to suit all skin tones and manages to absorb shine, without disturbing your makeup or clogging up your pores. Plus, it comes with a handy brush to help you refresh your face on-the-go.

2. Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder

This pressed powder is a great drugstore buy! Not only does it nix shine instantly, but also blurs away your pores to make your face look fresh and flawless. Since it is tinted, you can either layer it over your foundation or wear it alone to get a little coverage.

3. MAC Studio Fix Perfecting Powder

I’m all kinds of obsessed with this loose powder. With its sheer coverage and oil-controlling formula, it works beautifully to keep skin matte, but not flat. What I love the most about it is how comfortable and weightless it feels on my skin. I usually dust a tiny amount over my T-zone, especially when I’ve used a BB cream, to extend the wear of my base makeup.

4. NYX High Definition Finishing Powder

Attending a wedding or party this summer? Stock up on this silky formula. It goes on smoothly to banish grease, whilst adding a soft, filter-like effect on skin. Whilst the original translucent formula is a best-seller, you can opt for the light yellow or green hue to counteract dullness or redness. Just remember not to be too heavy-handed in your application because a little does really go a long way!

5. Urban Decay The Velvetizer

I was sold on this product the minute I read about it. Described as a mix-in medium, this ultra-fine powder shows its powers when mixed in with a foundation. Once it is blended in, it works to provide extra coverage, whilst delivering a velvety, matte finish. If you are looking for something that will give you airbrushed skin, this is definitely the powder to opt for.
