Irrfan Khan left a million hearts dejected when he announced he was going through an “undisclosed disease”. We later got news that he was going through treatment for a very rare neuroendocrine tumour in London. Throughout this trying period, his wife – Sutapa Sikdar – was by his side and we can only imagine her struggles coping with the situation. She even put up a post on Facebook asking people to give them space, and not speculate extensively about Irrfan’s health.
After a long fight, Irrfan is finally back to Mumbai – all hale and healthy. His millions of fans and well-wishers are delighted to see him back. The industry, too, have shown their excitement by wishing him on social media. But of course, the happiest of them all is his wife, Sutapa, who took to Facebook to pen a heartfelt note to express her gratitude to everyone who prayed for Irrfan’s recovery and good health.

Irrfan married writer and fellow college graduate – Sutapa – in 1995, and they have two sons Babil and Ayan.
We are glad the “longest year” is finally done and Irrfan is back on set shooting for his next film – Angrezi Medium – in Udaipur. The film, directed by Homi Adajania, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan. As big fans of his work, we are absolutely excited for this film and can’t wait to see him back on screen!
