In all these years in the movies, Deepika Padukone has made a mark for herself not only in the Hindi film industry, but in the global scene as well. With her first Hollywood film XXX: Return Of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel, her recent appearance in the Vogue International cover, and unveiling her wax statue at the Madame Tussaud’s, the Padmaavat actress has earned a global celebrity status, and rightly so. While in London to unveil her wax statue, Deepika was interviewed by the UK publication, Metro, where she was asked if she would like to be a part of a Marvel film.

And here’s what Deepika had to say:

Yeah, of course. Why not? I mean I’d say Indian origin. So whether it’s Marvel or whether it’s Avengers, or you know, any of these iconic characters that we’ve seen in cinema, I think it would be very interesting. And I think the world is ready to see one of these superheroes, one that originates from India. I believe it will happen soon. I know it will.

A Marvel hero of Indian origin? That sounds absolutely amazing! And we totally agree with Deepika, the world is ready for an Indian marvel hero. Russo Brothers and Hollywood, are you listening?

Deepika is currently busy shooting for her next film, Chhapaak – directed by Meghna Gulzaar – in Delhi. The film is inspired by the story of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. Recently, videos of her and her co-star, Vikrant Massey shooting on the streets of Delhi went viral online. Fans of the actress were awestruck with the prosthetic makeup which made her look unrecognisable. Well, that’s the thing about Deepika, right? She gives every role her 100% and we won’t be surprised to see her play a superhero in a Marvel movie as well!
