Bhumi Pednekar has always been an actor who believes in surprising her audiences by taking up unconventional characters and films. Right from her debut film – Dum Laga Ke Haisha – she has given some memorable performances. Now, she is back with yet another unconventional role in the film Saand Ki Aankh alongside Taapsee Pannu. Their character is based on the lives of the 60-something real-life shooters Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law, Prakashi Tomar, from Uttar Pradesh, also famously known as the ‘shooter dadis‘.
To achieve their look in the movie, the leading ladies sat through hours of makeup and prosthetics. Due to these prosthetics, the extreme weather conditions and the long shooting hours, Bhumi suffered heat burns on her face. She put up a picture of herself with the scars but soon took down the picture. Some people who could save the picture have shared it on social media.

According to a report in DNA, a source informed that Bhumi was suffering from the burns during the shoot but continued shooting because they were on a tight schedule.
The report also stated that when Bhumi was contacted, she agreed to have suffered burns but had this to say about it:
I’m proudly treating my burns as battle marks from a project that I have given my everything to.

On the work front, the Dum Lagake… actress is currently shooting for Mudassir Aziz‘s Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. She is also set to star in Karan Johar‘s magnum opus Takht.
