We don’t mind saying it a thousand times if need be, but it’s a fact now that Shilpa Shetty Kundra is just a pro when it comes to sarees. Be it traditionally draped one or with a contemporary twist, she has rocked all the styles like a true patron. So, she not only inspires us to go totally desi but also encourages us to experiment with the six yards of goodness. Leheriya saree has been one of her favourites, and her recent look definitely proves that too.

Celebrity stylist Sanjana Batra selected this beautiful black saree from Faabiiana. The modern twist to this drape was the halter neckline blouse she teamed with it. She teamed it with oxidised jewellery from Sangeeta Boochra, Apala by Sumit and mymotifs. We could also see the strappy silver heels peeking through the hem of the saree.

When it comes to leheriya saree, in particular, Shilpa has donned both the traditional drape and also tried on the contemporary style before. The bleed of the dye makes it unique from your regular stripes and hence gives its own character to the saree. Here’s a look back at her take on this indigenous dyeing method used in a saree.
