Alia Bhatt is one of the best actresses we have in the industry today. She has given amazing performances in each of the films that she has done so far and the audience has accepted her with open arms. She has been giving back to back hits barring Shaandaar and now maybe Kalank, so, there’s no doubt that she’s one helluva star. Moreover, she has few of the most anticipated films up her sleeves. Alia is currently working with Baahubali director SS Rajamouli on his next and will also be seen alongside Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Inshallah. While it might not be surprising to us that Alia has bagged both these roles, the actress, in a recent interview with PTI, revealed how she wasn’t confident enough to work with these epic directors.

Talking about the same, she said:

For me the bigness, the high is to be working with these two directors. There is a similarity between them, I think they are both obsessed with their films.

She even revealed how she had auditioned for a role in SLB’s 2005 movie Black but was rejected.

She said:

I was hoping for many years to work with him. When one day, news came up that he is doing a film I was like why isn’t he coming to me. When he did come to me, I was over the moon.

She also recollected as to how her random encounter with SS Rajamouli led to a film role.

I had bumped into Rajamouli sir at an airport and I begged him that whatever part he has for me I will do it. That time he had not cast for the girl yet. He said he was anyway talking about my timelines. So I told him whatever be the timelines, I will make it happen. We made it happen.

The actress, who is currently prepping for her Tollywood debut, is taking Telugu lessons and also revealed that while it’s hard to learn the language, she is picking up fast. Alia also talked about how similar the two directors are, she said that both SLB and Rajamouli are obsessed with their films.

The actress will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji‘s Brahmastra and we can’t wait.
