We recently got news of Kareena Kapoor Khan joining the team of Angrezi Medium alongside Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan. The film, directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, went on floors last month and the behind-the-scenes pictures of Irrfan on set got people very excited. As for Kareena’s role in the movie, there were rumours stating that she was going to play Irrfan’s wife. But turns out, the actress is all set to play a serious cop in the film.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, producer Dinesh has revealed that Kareena will be joining the cast of the film and that her role is that of a cop – a role she hasn’t done before.
Here’s what he said:
Kareena is a great addition to our franchise! Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce her character (with Angrezi Medium) who would be taken forward in the franchises to come and she’s perfect for it. We will be shooting in London this June and it will be great to be back on set with her.”
Going by Dinesh’s words, it is exciting to note that this is going to be a franchise. Fans are already thrilled for the film given it is Irrfan’s comeback into the movies after his major health scare. Now, with Kareena coming in and essaying such an exciting role, we cannot keep calm! Radhika Madan is also someone we are looking forward to seeing, as she was greatly appreciated for her ‘firecracker’ performance in her latest film, Pataakha. With such a talented star cast, we cannot wait for this movie to hit the screens!
