Deepika Padukone's MET Gala Look Will Definitely Make You Sing 'I'm A Barbie Girl' On Repeat

Okay, now that the song is stuck in your heads too, we proudly present to you Deepika Padukone‘s MET Gala 2019 look! It was a mystery whether she would be making an appearance at the MET Gala this year, but when she was spotted at the airport recently all we could think of  was, ‘What will Deepika wear?’, particularly with regards to this year’s theme.

Deepika stepped up her game and stayed true to the theme of camp fashion. This she achieved in a custom Zac Posen gown that was simply breathtaking. The metallic pink lurex jacquard fabric had its own sheen and Zac Posen X GE Additive X Protolabs embroidery just added to the lustre of it all. The sweetheart neckline, the dramatic wavy design and the gorgeous train made this gown suitable for the occasion. Also, we loved the pink-on-pink carpet action that we got to see, thanks to Deepika. Celebrity stylist Shaleena Nathani was all about edgy accessories and styled the gown with some stunning jewellery designed by Lorraine Schwartz.

We also loved the fact that her beauty look kept up with the beat of her outfit. Celebrity makeup artist Sandhya Shekar accentuated the purple eyeshadow into a stark, cat-eye effect and complemented the intense eye makeup with bolder, burgundy lips. But what we couldn’t take our eye off from was the exaggerated ponytail styled by celebrity hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou. The embellished hairband was an added bonus but actually completed the look to the T.

Now, won’t a Barbie doll be jealous of Deepika’s this look? It checks all the right boxes with the gown and the hairstyle for a pretty, breathtaking appearance.
