For me, the best part about summer isn’t the spontaneous beach holidays and the fact that I can work towards my tan—it’s the fact that I now have more than one reason to use fewer products on my face. We all know the age-old saying, ‘less is more‘, and I, for one truly believe that.

So as the summer sun starts to raise temperatures and the levels of frizz in my hair increases, I put together 3 necessary (being key here) products that I not only swear by using, but I feel that they are the only thing a girl needs on a daily basis. Because, why melt in the heat with layers of concealer or foundation on when you can be carefree and beautiful—amirite?

1. Sunscreen

One must never, ever skip out on sunscreen. Of course, the amount of SPF usage is up to you. But make sure to always reapply the sunscreen, especially if you’re outdoors. And use it every day of your life to ensure damage-free skin.

What I use:
A mineral powder, brush-on sunscreen with SPF 30 and non-chemical sunscreen filters.

Why I love it:
It’s a vegan product and goes on really well over your bb tint or any other makeup as it’s translucent with no chalky finish.

2. Tinted Moisturiser

Everyone needs some kind of coverage of their dark spots, uneven skin tone, and I get it. But before you reach out for the concealer, try a tint instead.

What I use:
A tinted moisturiser that provides 12 hours of coverage and hydration with SPF and key ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe water.

Why I love it:
It applies smoothly and has a sheer tint to the skin. It’s also sweat and humidity-resistant so I’m with oil-free skin all day. Another bonus, it’s super lightweight so you feel like you’re not wearing anything.

3. Lip Balm

Matte lipsticks are a great way to make a statement. But with the summer heat, your lips can get a little dried. On days when you can be lip-free, add a balm (preferably one with SPF) to add hydration back to your pout!

What I use:
With the inclusion of SPF 30, Coola’s lip balm is enriched with vitamins, antioxidants and a buttery-hydrating formula that protects and conditions the lips.

Why I love it:
It’s non-sticky and very wearable with no over-powering texture and smell.
