It’s that time of the year when we’re bombarded with red carpet looks. From MET Gala to now Cannes Film Festival, we’ve had a lot of ensembles to drool over, and we simply can’t stop scrolling through our feed for more such looks. But before the celebs hit the red carpet, they make way to our feed via their airport looks. Just like their glam avatars, their travel style is worth taking note of. That’s why our eyes are on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja‘s airport look while they were headed to Cannes.
Aishwarya may have gone for an all-black look with a cool pair of combat boots and handbag from Alexander McQueen. But what attracted us the most was the vibrant overcoat from Barbara Bui. The panels of colours on the coat make this one a winner!
Styled by her sister, Rhea Kapoor, Sonam wore an outfit from Roksanda. The contrast of an orange blouse with the ankle-length pants had a structural upgrade with the striped blazer. The interesting way the blazer is cinched at the waist makes a statement instantly. She accessorised the look with grey tones of Manolo Blahnik kitten heels and a Hermès Birkin bag.
Fashion Takeaway: Notice how the jackets played a huge part in making their airport look standout? The one statement-making element in both their looks was their overlay.
