Vivek Oberoi probably did not foresee that sharing a meme he considered to be funny, will land him in trouble. It’s the internet and you never know which of its side you’ll get to see on any given day – boon or bane.

A few days ago, Vivek had shared a meme based on the polling results made using Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s past relationships as an analogy. The joke was in bad taste, and Vivek shouldn’t have promoted it because he considered it to be harmless. Anyhow, things got out of control and the actor faced a lot of backlash from netizens as well as the film industry. He eventually apologised and deleted the tweet but the damage was already done.

The Saathiya actor’s bad time doesn’t end here. Ahead of the release of his film based on PM Narendra Modi, he has received death threats from Naxalites. As per a report in ANI, he has been provided with police protection until the threats die down. The release date of the biopic based on the prime minister’s life was pushed to May 24.

The original release date was April 5 but the makers were asked to reschedule as the film went against the code of conduct applicable during the Lok Sabha elections.
