The super public and ugly mid-air spat between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover was one of the most talked about things last year. While the two seemed cordial enough after wishing each other on their important days, they haven’t gone back to being what they once were. The internet and their fans were speculating that Sunil may just come back to continue his role as Dr. Gulati in The Kapil Sharma Show, but looks like that won’t be happening any time soon. The fans were at least expecting Sunil to turn up with his co-stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif for the promotion of his upcoming movie Bharat, but that didn’t happen either.
Now, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sunil finally opened up about why he wasn’t present at TKSS along with Salman and Kat.
He said:
I didn’t feel like going there, so I didn’t go.
The actor and comedian even revealed that he was asked to join the cast on the show by the movie’s PR team. He further added that since Salman and Katrina were already promoting the movie, there was no need for an additional element as they are huge stars themselves. When he was asked whether he and Kapil would ever work together, he replied that it would happen if it was written in his destiny and even recalled some beautiful moments from the show. He also revealed that he did meet Kapil a couple of times.
While Sunil’s initial response for his absence on the show had us question whether we would ever see Kapil and Sunil’s dynamic duo together ever again, we’re glad that they’ve let bygones be bygones.
Here’s hoping that we get to see both of them together on screen in whatever capacity that may be! I, for one, would love it if Dr.Gulati and Sunil’s multiple other characters made a comeback on TKSS.
