King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan has found it a little hard lately to rule the box office, especially with his latest outing Zero. Earlier this year, there were reports that confirmed that SRK had bid adieu to the Rakesh Sharma biopic titled Saare Jahan Se Achha film that was up his sleeve. But SRK was quite badly affected by Zero‘s failure to continue with the said project. Now, there are reports that the superstar will be signed for the next installment of the Dhoom series. And if the last 3 films are to be taken into account, SRK will be seen playing the sexy bad-guy. And from films like Don, we know how well he does that.
But back in 2017, when he was asked whether he would be seen in Dhoom 4, he said:
With Yash Raj, they don’t need to offer me any film. Adi just calls me up and I do the film. But I’ve told him, Karan Johar and other directors that I am not thinking of any other film till December 2017. They understand and respect that.
Now, a recent report in Bollywood Hungama says that SRK had been approached for Dhoom 4. And if he ends up doing it, then, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra – the cop duo will make for a new duo. Moreover, the 4th installment is rumoured to be helmed by a new director.
But back in 2018, Abhishek had been quite confident about returning to the franchise if the movie was to happen.
He said:
Usually, whenever Dhoom happens, there are several stories doing the rounds, but I won’t believe any till filmmaker Aditya Chopra confirms it. For all the three parts in the franchise, he just picked up the phone and told me, ‘Okay, we are ready and we are starting the film.’ But there has been no discussion or development on Dhoom 4 yet.
If this turns out to be true we would love to see Shah Rukh as the Big Baddie and Abhishek and Uday back at chasing yet another villain.
