A number of Bollywood actors have changed their name or the way they spell their name, for various reasons. The list of actors also includes Kiara Advani. For those who don’t know, her name was Alia before she made her Bollywood debut with Fugly. Recently, she also revealed the inspiration behind her name.

Kiara was present on The Kapil Sharma Show along with Shahid Kapoor for the promotion of their film, Kabir Singh. During the show, the host, Kapil Sharma asked Kiara the reason behind changing her name and she revealed that it was Priyanka Chopra‘s Anjaana Anjaani character that she got inspired from.

She shared:

When I entered the industry, Alia Bhatt was already an established superstar. So, I decided to change my name from Alia to Kiara Advani which was inspired by Priyanka Chopra’s character from the film, Anjaana Anjaani. Right from her accent to her style, everything inspired me to use that name. I would love to use the same name for my daughter in the future but I then thought that it was best to use the name, ‘Kiara’ for myself and establish the same in the industry.

PeeCee’s look in the film also became quite popular, especially her short hair that she carried so well!

Coming to Kabir Singh, it is a remake of the Telugu movie, Arjun Reddy. Directed by Sandeep Vanga the film is going to release on 21st June.
