Movie buffs, gather around because we have something that’d interest you! Nothing gets us more excited than good films, right? So here we are, giving you a lowdown on all the exciting Bollywood flicks to look forward to in the second half of 2019. After all, half the year has gone by and we’ve already witnessed some really good stories churned out by our desi filmmakers. From a Gully Boy to Uri: The Surgical Strike, from Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga to Luka Chuppi, the first half offered movies from different genres for various halves of the audience. With Kabir Singh, Zoya Factor, Mission Mangal, Good News and many more, the line-up of forthcoming Bollywood movies looks rather promising as well.

Here are 9 Bollywood movies that you should definitely check out:

Kabir Singh

Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead, is a remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy. Arjun Reddy was a big hit in Tollywood because of Vijay Deverakonda‘s powerful performance and we are equally excited to see Shahid in the same rugged and intense look. The story is said to be quite an intense love story and Shahid’s on-screen chemistry with Kiara is already being spoken about. It will hit the theatres tomorrow and we cannot keep calm!

Article 15

Ayushmann Khurrana’s performances in Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun were spectacular. And from what we saw in the Article 15 trailer, this one looks promising too as he’ll be seen playing a cop in it who fights for Dalits just with the help of the constitution. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, this movie will release on the 28th of June. While it might not appeal to everyone, this hard-hitting film will definitely find its niche.

The Zoya Factor

Starring Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan, The Zoya Factor is an adaption of Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling novel with the same name. Though the trailer of the film is not out, the poster which has Sonam and Dulquer has got all our attention because she once called Dulquer “cute” on her Instagram story. Isn’t it nice that they are already bonding together?  Plus, I think they make a super adorable pair! The movie releases on 20th September. Chick-flicks ftw!

Jabariya Jodi

After Hasee Toh Phasee, Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra are back on screen after a gap of 5 years with Jabariya Jodi. Since we loved them together in Hasee Toh Phasee, we can’t wait to see what they have to offer with this romantic comedy. Also, Sid will be seen in a Bihari element, now who’s excited for that? Jabariya Jodi is all set to release on 12th July.

Chhichhore

Chhichhore – this name was enough for us to get us curious. And since we’ve seen the poster and a little glimpse of it (watch the video above), we definitely are more than thrilled for this one! After Dangal, director Nitesh Tiwari is here with a fun film featuring the stories a bunch of youngsters and then how their lives change with age. The cast consists of Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin among others. The movie is set to release on 30th August.

Panipat

A movie like Jodha Akbar by Ashutosh Gowarikar transported us to an altogether different era. With magical performances by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the period drama was a treat to watch. We’re sure Panipat will also turn out to be a magnum opus. Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor will be seen playing the protagonists in this epic saga and are leaving no stone unturned in their prep for the roles. Sanjay Dutt will also be seen playing a prominent character.  The release date of this movie is 6th December.

Mission Mangal

This one’s based on true events of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launching the Mangalyaan into space and on how it was the least expensive launch in Indian history. It stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sharman Joshi. Who wouldn’t want to see this wisely chosen and rather interesting star cast weave magic on screen? The movie is going to release on 6th August.

Good News

It’s going to be wonderful to see Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani in a film together. After all, they all bring with them such different kind of energies. Romance, drama, comedy – this movie has it all and 27th of September is when you can catch all the fun in a theatre near you!

Saandh Ki Aankh

A film featuring Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu, where they are playing the real-life octogenarian sisters on screen – we’re all game for this! They’ve actually learned the nitty-gritties of their roles here from the actual Shooter dadis! Did you know that the actresses actually faced few bruises and burns while shooting for the film? Saand Ki Aankh will hit the theatres this Diwali.

Now, those were some of the Bollywood releases we are awaiting with bated breath. Which ones are you looking forward to?
