After 3 Idiots and Talaash, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen together in yet another Bollywood film. On his 54th birthday, Aamir had announced his next Bollywood movie – Laal Singh Chaddha which is a remake of the 1994 film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks in the lead role. Now, the lead actress opposite Aamir has also been finalised and it is none other than Kareena.
At his birthday press conference, Aamir had shared how the film fell in place.
He said:
Atul Kulkarni has written Lal Singh Chaddha. When we were shooting for Rang De Basanti, he asked me about my favourite film. I told him it was Forrest Gump. Atul wanted to narrate me a script then, but when he told me it’s Forrest Gump adaption, I was not keen to hear the narration. I heard it after 3 years, and since then, 2009-2010 onwards, I am after the Hollywood film’s rights.
For the film, Aamir Khan had to lose weight, almost around 20 kgs. “I have to be lean and slim,” Aamir had shared.
The shoot of Laal Singh Chaddha will begin from October this year. The film is going to be made by Viacom 18 and Aamir Khan Productions and will be directed by Advait Chandan, who had also directed Secret Superstar. Laal Singh Chaddha will release around Christmas 2020.
