Karan Johar‘s 2008 comedy flick Dostana might not have rightly depicted the LGBTQIA community. But, it was one of the first mainstream movies that addressed the LGBTQIA in a light that was slightly better than how they were treated in movies back in the 90s. Nevertheless, the movie was upheld as an iconic movie for it’s carefree and modern content. Ever since Dostana was deemed successful, everyone has been raging for a sequel. Immediately after, on an award show, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan were touted to be the next boys for Dostana. But times have changed and so have the actors. Karan is finally gearing up to make a sequel to the 2008 film. Yesterday, KJo gave us a teaser of the movie without revealing the star cast.

This is the first time we will be seeing Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor together on screen and we’re quite excited to see the new fresh face who will be the third main lead of the movie. While earlier rumours suggested that it was Rajkummar Rao who was supposed to be part of the project, looks like that’s not true after all. Any guesses who it’ll be?
While the first installment of Dostana was a comedy love triangle, we wonder if the second one will follow the same theme. What do you guys think?
