The 2016 film Dangal, starring Aamir Khan, was instrumental in introducing some really interesting fresh faces to the industry. Be it Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh or Zaira Wasim. While all the three have been doing some exciting work in the industry while finding their footing, it came as quite the surprise when Zaira announced that she was quitting from her profession as an actor.
The actress took to social media to share her thoughts and reasons as to why she decided to take such a drastic step. She states that her decision to enter this industry 5 years ago changed her life forever. She confessed that she wasn’t truly happy with the identity she had as an actor and that the environment she was working in threatened her relationship with her religion.

Zaira had just wrapped The Sky Is Pink, which is going to be her last film. She worked alongside Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the film. Her last outing in the movies was her film, Secret Superstar, alongside Aamir Khan which was about a young girl following her passion for music against all odds.
While her personal choice to quit films must be respected, she was quite an interesting actor whom we are going to miss seeing on screen. Wish you luck, Zaira.
