Knowing about different cultures and traditions is always so exciting. Especially during weddings because we get to know how different the ceremonies in different cultures are. Last year, one of our favourite celebrity couples, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas tied the knot at the Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur, India. And it was a grand and beautiful affair! They got married according to both, the Hindu and the Christian ceremony.
We all know about the ‘saat pheras’ and the significance of it in Hindu weddings. And looks like our Nick jiju knows them well too! Recently, he made an appearance on the American show, Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party which is co-hosted by Martha Stewart and rapper Snoop Dogg and was asked about his wedding. Talking about it, the Sucker singer explained the ‘saat pheras’ he took with Priyanka in the simplest way possible.
He said:
She comes from a big Indian family, I obviously had my brothers… we did it (wedding) in Jodhpur, at a palace there which was beautiful. Obviously, there was good food, good music. So you do the pheras, which is seven walks around the fire symbolising seven lifetimes together. So I am locked in for good now.
