How I Got Myself A Make-Over—Trends & Tips

Before And After

It’s important to give yourself a make-over once in a while. It makes you feel alive and fresh! It ups your style and beauty game, helping you stay ahead! Make-overs improve our appearance and confidence quotient! Believe me, there’s a lot of power in change! Giving yourself new hair colour, a new hair cut and a slightly different look can eventually lead to a mesmerising overhaul! Let’s see how I got a make-over which I absolutely loved—and some tips and trends of the season!

One fine day, I realized I was done with my boring hair colour and style! I ended up at Beauty Bar—a salon in Lokhandwala, Mumbai. The MUA there, Khushboo Jain suggested I go for a global hair colour which would help me get rid of the grey hair! And let’s face it, owing to our lifestyle these days, most of us are greying early, I included!

Hair Colour Processing

No makeover is complete without a new hair colour and hairstyle! For hair colour, I wanted something subtle yet different, something not very outrageous and radical—yet giving me a change from my routine hair colour and style. I first decided to cut those long tresses off which was long due. The MUA suggested I go global with Loreal Majiral 4.26! The other colours in trend these days are ash gold, honey gold, copper-gold, deep red and mahogany!

Hair Colour Processing

I went global—root to length, with my hair colour but one can also consider:

Balayage—Technique of free-hand painting highlights onto the hair, creating a soft and natural gradation of lightness towards the ends! This is pretty much in trend currently.

Ombre—The gradual blending of one colour hue to another, a popular hair colouring style these days! Apart from this one can go for the classical streaks or crown colouring too!

Just chopping off my tresses and colouring them made my hair look so rich! However, it’s important to take care of your hair once you colour them. So, one should regularly consider oiling and giving their hair some spa! Olaplex and Keratin are some treatments you can consider once in 2-3 months to keep your hair healthy! The hair products I would suggest would be Loreal colour protect shampoo & conditioner, Morrocan oil and hydrating mask, Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair.

Post Hair Colour

For an absolutely subtle make-up look, the MUA Khushboo at Beauty Bar used the following products which you can also try on a routine basis.

Mascara: Sephora

Kohl: PAC Cosmetics

This was my final look and I was so happy with the change! I am hoping to go with such make-overs at least once a while.
