“Keep the hard work going, you never know where it’ll take you tomorrow”. We’ve often heard people say this to us, and believe it or not, it is true. Our first job may or may not be something that we like but it surely is a lesson. Eventually, you will discover what you love doing and make a successful career out of it. Jay Bhanushali is one of the most popular faces on television, but his first job was far away from acting.
Jay walked down the memory lane and recalled one thing that his father had told him and his siblings when they were young.
He shared:
My father was a bank manager and would always tell us, ‘You should know earning money is not that easy’. We (Jay and his brothers) were told that after 10th grade we would have to pick up part-time jobs instead of loitering around with friends. And that’s what I did.
He then took up a job as a salesman for a couple of shoe brands but soon realised that wasn’t his thing.
He shared:
I sold books and worked as salesman in a couple of branded shoe stores. it was not my thing.
He then spoke about how acting came into the picture. “People would tell me I could try my hand at acting and become a hero. I considered the suggestion and gave it a serious thought,” he said.
Jay is married to television actress Mahhi Vij and they are expecting their first child this year. The couple has adopted their caretaker’s children (a boy and girl) in 2017.
