Filmmaking back in the day was very different compared to now. We have heard from actors like Madhuri Dixit Nene, about how back in their days, the script-writer used to write the script for the scene on set. Now, it might be more streamlined, but people definitely had to work harder then, with long shoot hours and hardly any sleep. Varun Dhawan recently shared a video of his dad, David Dhawan reminiscing about his shooting schedule for the film Shola Aur Shabnam, in Ooty. Varun writes in his caption that he thought he was working hard for his film, but it cannot beat the kind of hard work his father and his team did back in the day.
Varun is known to always share very candid and real content on his social media, and he seems to have shot this video while just having a normal chat with his parents.

Even with fever while I shoot and think today was a hard day on the sets of #sd3. This is only till my dad told me how he used to shoot a double shift going up to nearly 19 or 20 hrs a day sometimes. Those days the unions where not strong enough for technians and films needed to be made in this manner.i want to always be the hardest worker in the room and I still have alot of catching up to do to earn that place in my home. #lovefilms
This passion and love for films is something else, right? Shooting for almost 20 hours a day with like hardly any sleep is not an easy task! Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra commented on the video, saying “Thank your stars you have not shot like this… I have! Love Davidji“. Arjun Kapoor, Rohit Shetty and Karisma Kapoor also commented on the video, cheering for David Ji!
We sure are, as well! Cannot wait to see the father-son duo get together to remake David Ji‘s iconic Coolie No. 1.
