It doesn’t look like the popularity of pantsuit is going down anytime soon. In fact, the power play of this suit is now being experimented with. Designers are now coming up with innovative styles to showcase the suit in a new light. We’re currently obsessed with the one Kareena Kapoor Khan wore on the sets of Dance India Dance recently.
For celebrity stylist Tanya Ghavri this was an easy and chic choice. The unconventional pantsuit was designed by Nikhil Thampi and was part of his Semicolon spring/summer 2019 collection. What we loved was the unusual take on the sleeves of the blazer. Nikhil made everything else look like a pantsuit sans the one sleeves. This simple design switch made this pantsuit look not only chic but edgy too! Also, notice how the collar on the side with sleeves had a notched lapel and the one on the sleeveless side was in shawl style. Now, that’s another design gem worth taking note of.
What was brilliant was the way celebrity hairstylist Yianni Tsapatori managed to translate the strong mood with the textured yet sleek braid. Whereas, celebrity makeup artist Mickey Contractor went for a dewy, bronzy look with bold brows.
