She said she was unaware of the significance of the likes that she gets and didn’t know much about how social media works either. Talking about her brand adventures, Deepika touched upon the subject of how she chooses her projects. She zeroed upon how the core of all her decisions is the purpose, whether it is getting into producing a film like Chhapaak or starting her mental health foundation Live Love Laugh.
Like Kareena Kapoor Khan had mentioned on Koffee With Karan, around 2 to 3 years ago, Hollywood did seem like everyone’s final destination. But DP begs to differ. She spilled the beans about how exciting an opportunity it seemed to go out to Hollywood and work there a decade ago. And also highlighted how that has changed drastically today and how the West in fact is looking eastwards, especially India, for inspiration and innovation.
DP, as you all know, is the daughter of Prakash Padukone – a celebrated national badminton player. So, as it goes, Deepika had always thought she too would get into sports following her father’s footsteps. But looks like life had other plans for her! She said even she had no idea that she would end up modeling and then go on to become an actor. What we lost in sports as a country, we gained in films! Deepika is a gem of an actress.
