When Rahul Bose posted a woeful video about being charged Rs. 442 for a couple of bananas, little did he know that he is opening a meme field for the netizens. Some of the internet reactions were hilarious, to say the least.
The good news for Bose is that being charged an exorbitant price for two bananas didn’t go unnoticed as the hotel in question, JW Marriott, was fined Rs. 25,000 by the Excise and Taxation department. As per latest reports, the 5-star hotel failed to provide a justifiable explanation when they were issued a show-cause notice.
R.K Chaudhry, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner, UT Chandigarh told ANI:
In this matter, a showcase notice was issued to the hotel management. They were called today for the reply. But they could not give a satisfactory reply. So after hearing, they have been imposed with the fine.
Well well, justice has been served at last. We hope this makes Rahul go bananas, with happiness of course!
