The next time you’re at it, keep the root intact while slicing up. This will not take the effect away completely but will minimize its sensation to a great amount. If this does not suit you then you can also try soaking the onions in ice-cold water for about 10 minutes before slicing them up.

2. Never crowd your pan.

Ever wonder why your food turned out to be soggy instead of crispy on a pan? It’s probably because you’re overcrowding your pan. This way, instead of browning and turning crisp, your food starts emitting steam and makes your food soggy. It’s because your food is not getting enough direct heat.

3. Always prep it up.

Prepping while cooking can get really stressful sometimes. Either your food on the pan burns or you forget a couple of ingredients. So, to reduce the hassle and make it an enjoyable experience, prep your meals or do the chopping works beforehand. This way, you have everything ready in place and you just need to concentrate on the cooking part.

4. A little salt and oil while boiling pasta goes a long way.

While this won’t make any difference to the appearance of the pasta, it’s so, so important. The salt will help season the pasta and the oil will make sure they don’t stick together and become lumpy. You’ll notice your pasta tastes much better with this trick.

5. Don’t forget to have fun.
